ACECNJ  is partnering  with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection to support the May 9, 2012 “Barnegat Bay Blitz” – a watershed-wide clean-up initiative being spearheaded by NJDEP Commissioner Martin who expects about 1,000 Department volunteers for this all day effort.  This is a great opportunity for members of the consulting community to volunteer alongside our NJDEP counterparts on a day of fun that also gives back to the environment.

ACECNJ has also teamed up with NJ Clean Communities to create sponsorship opportunities with member firms.  Those that donate $1,000 or equivalent in material to support the Blitz can get their logo on Barnegat Bay Blitz flyers and tee shirts.  Due to tight timelines,  all Donations have to be committed by April 1, 2012 to get logos on materials for this Spring’s  blitz.  The  donations will be used to provide support to the Blitz and are to be coordinated with Sandy Huber at NJ Clean Communities – (609) 989-5900

Continue reading »]]> In response to concerns raised by the American Council of Engineering Companies of New Jersey (ACECNJ) regarding the widespread impacts of Hurricane Irene, the New Jersey Department of Transportation has pushed back the closing dates for six EOI’s that were previously due this week.

ACECNJ thanks the NJDOT for revising these six closing dates so that firms affected by power loss, flooding or other impacts from the hurricane will have adequate opportunity to finalize their submissions.

Continue reading »]]> The American Council of Engineering Companies of New Jersey has proposed a number of revisions to the New Jersey Department of Transportation’s evaluation criteria for professional service procurements.  NJDOT has a number of projects in its queue and plans to advertise once ACECNJ’s concerns have been addressed.  These revisions are the product of a significant and collaborative effort between ACECNJ’s Transportation Committee and NJDOT professional staff and are a prime example of ACECNJ’s advocacy of New Jersey’s engineering profession.  A full record of ACECNJ’s correspondence including all proposed revisions can be viewed in the Members Only section of this site.  Please contact ACECNJ directly for a password if you have not previously received one.

Continue reading »]]> New Jersey is second only to California in solar power capacity thanks to financial incentives and public policy commitments made by key decision-makers in the public and private sectors.  Proposed wind farms that harness power from off-shore turbines may soon help meet New Jersey’s energy demand.  Capital projects intended to modernize, expand and enhance our State’s aging transmission infrastructure are proposed or in the pipeline.
