Trenton, NJ – Representatives of the American Council of Engineering Companies of New Jersey (ACECNJ) offered testimony today before the New Jersey Legislature’s Senate Environment Committee regarding implementation of the Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) program.

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) is charged with LSRP implementation.  ACECNJ President Joe Fiordaliso and ACECNJ Environment Committee Chair Ileana Ivanciu both testified on behalf of the organization.  Testimony focused on successes to date, challenges ahead and issues of concern prior to full implementation in 2012.

“ACECNJ is committed to the success of the LSRP Program and offers its expertise and resources to both the Legislature and the DEP to ensure that success,” said Fiordaliso in verbal testimony.  Ivanciu delivered brief remarks and submitted written testimony.

LSRP holds the promise to expedite environmental remediation projects, sparking economic growth and protecting New Jersey’s environment.  Over 400 engineers have already received their provisional LSRP licenses, demonstrating the importance of this program to New Jersey’s engineering profession.  ACECNJ continues to work closely with key decision-makers at the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the New Jersey Legislature to ensure the success of this important program.
