To those of us in the consulting engineering profession, it’s painfully clear: professional engineering schools throughout the country are not producing enough engineers to meet present and future demands. Fortunately, there’s something you can do about it: you can sponsor the ACECNJ Scholarship Fund.
The fund awards scholarships to undergraduate and graduate engineering students in New Jersey to promote the consulting engineering profession. With the support of donations from consulting engineers, this fund has the potential to fulfill ACECNJ’s goal of nurturing future engineers.
Each fall, ACECNJ representatives visit New Jersey’s colleges and universities to talk about consulting engineering and to present the scholarship program. Students submit an application and are judged on grades, school and work experiences, and an essay. ACECNJ’s Awards Committee will present the scholarships at the Engineering Excellence Awards banquet on March 16, 2011 at Rutgers University in New Brunswick.
Contributions to ACECNJ’s Scholarship Fund will be recognized with a full page advertisement in the Engineering Excellence Awards program. Scholarship sponsors will also be recognized on ACECNJ’s Scholarship webpage. ACECNJ will also issue a press release announcing its scholarship recipients and list sponsors.
